Brad Pitt is making his first foray into TV by producing a transsexual drama.Pitt has got involved in Ryan Murphy’s ‘4 oz’ show on U.S network FX.

Murphy will play the lead role of a married male gynecologist with two sons, who goes through a radical gender transformation.

The title ‘4oz’ refers to the average weight of a penis.

FX have given the go-ahead for a pilot and also picked up three episode scripts, according to Variety.

Murphy co-created the show with ‘Nip/Tuck writer Brad Falchuk.

The first series of the show will reportedly deal with the revelation of the doctor’s decision to have gender changing surgery.

The second series will follow him as he changes into a woman, while the third would focus on his surgery.

A fourth series would reportedly revolve around his new life as a woman and his attempt to find love.

Murphy and Pitt have worked together before, co-producing the 2006 movie ‘Running With Scissors’.
